OUR VISION AND MISSION

THE NICHOLAS LEGACY FUND, INC.

The Nicholas Legacy Fund, Inc. (Non-Profit) 501 (c) (3)EIN 26-2718048  was established in 2007 at the communities foundation of New Jersey.

Our collective goal is to establish a reliable support system, directly to those in need of vital relief of their individual situations. The heart of our foundation's focal point is in helping people gain a quality of life. In order for our foundation to meet these goals, which requires a significant amount of time, energy and finances, we are reaching out to individuals as well as companies and corporations in a joint effort to enact our vision and fulfill our mission.

The NLF 'S mission is focused on providing program services to recipients to benefit a specific segment of the community, such as children and veterans in need of special care enacting such services as:

* Medical necessities {physicians, hospitalizations, pharmaceuticals, and physical therapy/rehabilitation} home accessibility's and necessities {bedding and mobility items}

* Other resource information available, such as legal assistance

* Furnish debt payment to vendors for mortgages, rents, primary vehicles, and utilities. Assistance as aforementioned for 6 months to 1 year. Extensions to be provided upon review

* Provide current financial assistance as aforementioned through a formulated program whereby trusts are set up

The uniqueness of our program resides in the support be it financial or otherwise going directly to those in need. Money is not funneled into pooled or research programs, which can reduce the financial totality of monies and or services to individuals.

STRATEGIES

Within our first year of existence, NLF has made significant strides in achieving its collective mission and goals. This past September NLF held its first major fund raiser, a motorcycle run and rally led by "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel which featured a ride along and autograph/photograph session with the motorcycling legend, amongst other activities and entertainment. The first time event drew just under 400 motorcyclists, a very impressive turnout indeed.

Building on the overwhelming success of our first event, we are once again putting our collaborative efforts together this year to announce  the NLF's 2ND Annual Run and Rally with Robbie Knievel. This year's event will not only include the ride along and autograph/photograph session with Robbie, but also feature a major motorcycle jump performed by Knievel; The Jump For Jonathan.

This year's recipient in part, is a 13 year old boy named Jonathan. Jonathan was born at 25 1/2 weeks gestation, weighing 1lb, 6oz and 12" in height. The first 6 months of his life was spent in intensive care. Since his birth, he has undergone 27 brain surgeries, 3 eye surgeries, 1 stomach surgery and just most recently, hip surgery. Jonathan was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, Epilepsy, Retnopathy of Prematurity (ROP), meaning he has a completely detached retna. He is completely blind in his left eye and visually impaired in his right.  Jonathan's doctors list the totality of his medical diagnosis under the umbrella of Cerebral Palsy. One only has to meet Jonathan in person to realize just how fragile life is, just how fortunate most of us are with the thorns with which we carry. Seeing the many burdens Jonathan carries only focusses us on what's most important in life, counting our own blessings and giving of ourselves to something more meaningful. Devoting our best energies to a purpose greater then oneself.

To further enhance the appeal of this year's event we are proposing to sign a major rock band such as AC/DC, in addition to also having several established and independent vendors from the food and beverage industries, motorcycling manufactures and apparel companies.

The significance of such an event will draw major national multimedia attention, for the sponsors, thus giving all involved significant state and nationwide exposure. Along with this, we will be offering total market exclusivity to all sponsorship. Certain levels of sponsorship will also receive commercial endorsement directly involving Robbie Knievel, name recognition in promotional material, name and or logo on event flyers, ads, banners, t-shirts, programs and other event promotions.

VISION

Management and Board Members:

We have positioned our organization to understand the unique challenges typically faced by non-profit foundations, by installing systems and practices necessary to support growth, while maintaining the spirit of good will. At the center of our foundations lies a board of members from all walks of life, consisting of those in the medical, art, blue collar and financial fields respectively. Each of these individuals brings a unique quality, diversity and passion. The focused dedication of our board members allows us to intimately understand these special needs and the resources it takes to provide to those in dire need. A number of our board members are direct survivors of such debilitating situations, and each one of us has directly experienced the effects of personal devastation on one form or another.
